John Ogilvie 

Founder and director of Byron Yoga, John has been teaching yoga for over twenty-five years and leads the Byron Yoga Centre teacher training courses. He encourages a light heartedness in our approach to yoga and to ourselves. John teaches regular classes as part of the Byron Yoga studio weekly timetable. His classes are both challenging and dynamic, and integrate the different yoga styles of Iyengar and Ashtanga, as well as the softer Sivananda and Satyananda practices of yoga and the energy principles of Aikido.

 

 

Simon Borg-Olivier

Simon Borg-Olivier MSc BAppSc is a Co-Director of Yoga Synergy. Teaching since 1982 Simon is a registered physiotherapist, a research scientist and a university lecturer. Suffice to say, Simon has led an extraordinary life. At the age of 6 he was introduced to yogic breathing by his father. At 17, he met a Tibetan Lama who introduced him to the philosophy and practice of Tantric Yoga. In 1985, Simon met his primary teacher Natanaga Zhander with whom he studied for almost two decades. He has also studied with such internationally revered Indian teachers as BKS Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois and TKV Desikachar. Simon teaches regularly at workshops and conferences both nationally and internationally. He lives in Sydney with his wife and fellow-yoga teacher Vitoria and their children Amaliah and Eric.

 

 

Roberto Milletti

Featured in "Om Yoga Magazine UK" as one of the three world leaders in new contemporary forms of Yoga, Roberto Milletti is an inspirational yoga teacher and is the founder of Odaka Yoga Contemporaneo (OYC) in Rome. He has created an innovative form of yoga that incorporates martial arts, zen and traditional yoga postures.This beautiful flowing yoga style lead us to melt into the liquid form of the body making you free from all constraint and giving the ability to transform and discover new shapes in ourselves. Roberto delivers his contemporary message and methodology through retreats, teacher trainings, conferences & festivals around the                                            globe.

 

 

Simon Maurizio Marrocco

Simon is a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher.In 1989 he founded St.Kilda Iyengar Yoga School S.K.Y.S. He first travelled to India in 1984 and was initiated by SRI SRI THAKUR BALAK BRAHMACHARI. In 1986 he started to practise Iyengar Yoga in Melbourne, since 1993 he has traveled annually to India to study with his teacher (GURUJI) B.K.S. IYENGAR and family, GEETA and PRASHANT. Simon conducts yearly teacher training programs and has taught in major countries around the world. In 2005 he began to create a retreat centre (Yoga Gurukul) for the benefit of health through yoga and ayurveda.

 

 

Eve Grzybowski

A legendary teacher in Australia over the past 30 years, Eve is American-born and came to live in Australia in 1976. Eve directed Sydney Yoga Centre and Simply Yoga Studio in Sydney. Eve held office in the Iyengar Association of Australia, and was an Iyengar Yoga assessor. Eve learned yoga from Martyn Jackson, one of the first westerners to be taught directly by B.K.S. Iyengar. Martyn is credited with introducing and popularising the Iyengar method in Australia. A teacher of teachers, Eve is now semi-retired and is a consistent guest speaker running talks and workshops on Yoga Therapy and Yoga Adjustments

 

 

 

Angela Pashayan

Angela, a favourite at Evolve Sydney & Melbourne, is the Founder of Yoga of Devotion San Francisco and the TWF Children's Fund. She began teaching in 2003 & she has dedicated her life to Teaching and Serving the under-privaledged with proceeds from classes, workshops and retreats. Her global view of humanity encourages her to create retreats in locations around the world that will inspire your heart.Teaching students with injuries, and those with emotional challenges - helping both to heal faster with lasting improvements. Claudine Lafond

Claudine has traveled to Sydney from New York City for the awesome power of LOVE. She brings an abundance of experience and training which have accumulated over the past 14 years. Her current style is a powerful and playful blend of her various practices with Anusara, Power Vinyasa, Iyengar and now the magic of the AcroYoga practice. She is also a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and a Cranio-sacral therapist.

Presently He is co-authoring a book of classical yoga work, the worlds first Encyclopaedia Of Yogasanas & Encyclopaedia of 1008 Prabhu Pranayamas. Being a Primary Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher He Conducts certified International Yoga Teacher Training courses around the world. Judy Krupp                                                                                                                                    Founder and director of The Yoga Room & Life Centre, Judy has been teaching for over 20 years. Originally trained in the Iyengar system, Judy now teaches a multifaceted approach, blending the art of asana practice with the science of the mechanics of movement. Judy has an astute knowledge of the body and its movement and she lives and teaches with both humour and passion. She encourages her students to move beyond their perceived limitations, whilst working at an individual pace with grace and core stability.

 

 

Tulsidevi

From an early age Tulsi was drawn to the world of Yoga and Natural Therapies. At 21, by a wonderful set of circumstances she met her Guru, Mahamandelshwar Paramahans Swami Maheshwarananda, and began practicing the system Yoga in Daily Life. Tulsi immediately found her home and travelled to India, spending her time studying and training under the guidance of her Guru. She opened Yoga in Daily Life on the Gold Coast 7 yrs ago, and has been guiding and mentoring Yoga Teachers over the last three years. Tulsi is now Manager of the Brisbane centre of Yoga In Daily Life there she teaches sought after day and evening classes and passes on her many skills in the art of living an authentic yoga life.  Add to this Meditation sessions and Philosophy classes and it will give you an idea of her dedication to Yoga and all that it brings to seekers of the body, mind and spirit

 

 

Madhava

Madhava is a co-founder of Yoga White Lotus – Sivananda Tradition. His journey into Yoga began in 2004 in London, UK. The immediate connection to the teachings took him to an intense training in Sivananda ashrams in India and Europe.For the next 6 years, he devoted his life as a voluntary resident staff at the Sivananda  Ashram in London. Trained by Swamis, this experience demanded a disciplined yogic lifestyle where a daily spiritual practice of Asanas, Pranayama, mantra chanting, Kirtan, yogic diet and all aspects of yoga was required. Through selfless service, he taught many students from around the world from beginners to teachers' level in classes, courses, retreats and international teachers’ training courses.His devotion to the teachings of Yoga and his dedicated practice are reflected in his classes. He teaches with dynamism, precision and care. His classes are meticulously prepared, intelligently executed and engaging. Based in Byron Bay he continues the mission of                                          his masters of spreading yoga in the west. 

 

Madhava began his journey into Yoga in 2004 at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in London. An immediate resonance with the teachings took him to Kerala, South India for further practice. The deep connection with this tradition helped his personal practice to evolve very quickly and in 2005 he took the International Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course (TTC).
He devoted the last 6 years of his life as a voluntary resident staff at the Sivananda Centre in London. This experience demanded a disciplined yogic lifestyle where a daily spiritual practice consisting of asanas, pranayama, meditation, mantra chanting, kirtan, yogic diet and all aspects of Yoga was required. During this time, through selfless service (karma yoga) he taught many students from around the world from beginners to teachers’ level.

Liz Costigan

Founder of Byron Iyengar and the Byron Yoga Lounge Liz Costigan is a Certified Introductory Level Two Iyengar Yoga Teacher and has a background as a Registered Nurse. She has been practicing yoga for eighteen years, teaching for nine and has trained in the Iyengar System for 7 years. “Yoga is one of my best friends. I find it liberating for my body, mind and soul. I find the Iyengar Journey an incredible inspiration and guide for every day life”. Liz teaches both dynamic and restorative classes. Emphasis is placed on safety and alignment and adapting the practice to suit individual body types through the Iyengar system.

 

 

 

Kevin James Carroll

Practicing Bhakti Yoga since his first visit to India in 1990, Kevin James now leads chanting circles and workshops in yoga festivals and studios all over the world. The intention of his circles is to empower the individual through reconnecting to the heart and to bring awareness of our oneness.Kevin believes that it is our disconnection from source that is the cause of all suffering.His music is a world fusion of chanting.Weaving ancient Mantra’s with his own prayers and hearts song. 

 

 

Janie Larmour

The founder of The Centre of Yoga, Janie has been working with health and wellbeing for the last 19 years.  The Centreoffers daily classes, seasonal detox programs, retreats, yoga teacher training, shiatsu and private one-on-one appointments.She teaches Zen Ki Yoga, a unique yoga based on traditional oriental medicine, the 12 meridians, the 5-element theory, the seasons and macrobiotics.  Janie has just launched a her new website offering Zen Ki Yogaclasses 24/7, anywhere, anytime with a growing library of yoga classes online as well as articles and information about the Zen Ki Yoga, food, health and how it relates to the seasons

 

 

 

Nadine Fawell

Yoga has helped Nadine develop into a happy, strong woman. Her style, grounded in the Ashtanga and Krishnamacharya traditions, is slow, strong and fluid, holding the poses to p-examination finding a way to rest in the discomfort, becoming strong enough to heal. Jodi Boyd

Jodi Boyd is the founder, owner, and principal teacher at Bala.  Jodi started practicing yoga over 18 years ago and began teaching 10 years ago. Combining long holds with fluid movement and infused with various messages yoga has to offer, Jodi’s classes are an athletic blend focused on breath awareness and cultivating core strength. Jodi teaches to put a smile on her students face.

 

 

 

Suzanne Grey

Director of the Gold Coast Yoga Centre, Suzanne was introduced to Eastern philosophy at 13 and it has remained a passion for over 30 years. It was the perfect platform for her discovery of yoga 17 years ago and informs her practice and teaching. She strongly believes asana practice reflects and effects life off the mat.The Gold Coast Yoga centre has been established for over 15 years. Most of the teachers have been together for that time and form a strong sangha as well as teaching community. Each teacher offers a different flavour and perspective. It is a  privilege of offering a space for people of all walks to find their own way to yoga.

 

 

 

Kaaren Schimana

Founder of Salsa Caliente Kaaren began her yoga journey in the early 80’s in India at the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh. She completed her Yoga Teacher training in Neyadam South India and began teaching throughout Australia and overseas. Kaaren fell in love with Salsa in the 90’s & after many years studying and participating in Salsa & latin music festivals around the world she began teaching in 2002. Cuban style of dancing rang deep in her soul and she began her exploration into the roots of the Afro Cuban dances and music. She is currently teaching Cuban Salsa in the northern rivers, Yoga for dancers in Cuba and at Salsa Congresses in Australia. Her mission is to offer yoga and dance for everybody as an awakening to their highest potential individually, intimately and communally and to have lots of fun doing it. 

 

 

 

Maria Kirsten

Maria, MA, eRYT500, has been teaching beginners' yoga to householders in Lennox Head since 2000.  A certified Yogalates teacher, and asana and anatomy teacher trainer, Maria’s interests are in yoga therapy, experiential anatomy and making the joy of yoga safe and fun for everyone.  As a teacher trainer, Maria’s mission is to help new yoga teacher’s develop the clarity and confidence to safely teach beginning students to practice yoga.
